The wavy division line illustrates the location of the municipality on the Baltic Sea. The ox head is taken from the arms of the [[Wagrien]] landscape. It also refers to the importance of cattle breeding in the municipality. The wheatears further indicate the importance of agriculture. The lakes and rivers in the region have a natural abundance of fish. About 200 years ago a perch appeared on the Schönberg church tower as a weather vane, which is shown in the lower half. | |||
