The seal showed in a divided shield on the right half the arms of the Abbey in Kempten, to which the village belonged. These arms were divided horizontally of red and blue. The left part showed a flower on a small mountain, the flower most likely being a mountain-gentian. The present arms were granted in 1813, where the arms of the abbey were removed, except for the colours.
