The landing craft represent the activities of the marines in this barracks, the trident and guns symbolize the concept of 'sea soldier'. Finally, the municipal coat of arms of Texel is depicted in the third quarter. On May 18, 1983, the A0K was renamed Joost Dourleinkazerne, named after the Major of the Marines (1911-1980) who played an important role in the battle against the nationalists in East Java as a company commander in 1946-1947.
