Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ?

The right half of the arms shows in the upper half a fleur-de-lis taken from the arms of the Von Estorff family, who played a major role in the history of Barnstedt. The two reeds in the base are a symbol for the village of Kolkhagen. The wavy bend symbolises the Barnstedter Brook. The red heart is taken from the arms of the Lüneburg district.
