The chevron is taken from the arms on the seal of the Lords of Westerham documented in the first half of the 14th century. The Schaltorfer von Vagen, who were important as owners of Vagen Castle and as landlords from the mid-14th to the early 16th century, also had a chevron in their coat of arms. | |||
