===Origin/meaning===
The horse is known as a symbol of the town since 1457 when it appears on the seal of the local judge. The horse is derived from the arms of the Counts of Frauenberg, who ruled the town from 1244-1566. Ever since the town belongs to Bayern. The horse was placed in a shield and used as arms in the 18th century and the arms have not changed since.
