DRAGSHOLM
Region : Sjælland
Amt (until 2007) :Vestsjælland (until 1970 Holbæk)
Additions: 1970 Asnæs, Fårevejle, Grevinge, Vallekilde-Hørve
Incorporated into: 2007 Odsherred
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially registered in 1971.
The arms show a greem 'bridge' which symbolises the fact that the municipality is situated on the border between the island of Sjælland proper and the former Odsherred region. The area used to be a narrow peninsula, which, between 1873 and 1942 was largely widened by draining the sea. The municipality still has a coast line of the East and West. The tower and the crosier refer to the fact that the area historically belonged to the Bishops of Roskilde, who also had a castle in the area.
