MEIX-DEVANT-VIRTON

Province : Luxembourg
Additions: 1977 Gérouville, Robelmont, Sommethonne, Villers-la-Loue

Armoiries de Meix-devant-Virton

Official blazon

De gueules à cinq fers de framée d'argent, rangés 2 et 3, au chef diminué coupé d'azur et d'argent.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 17, 2003.

The spear-heads refer to the early medieval spearheads found in the village and indicate the long history of the village. They are placed in the shape of a letter M, the initial of the municipality.

The colours are those of the province Luxembourg.
