====Origin/meaning====
===Origin/meaning===
Vimbuch already had its own council in 1402, but the oldest known seal dates from the 17th century. It showed no arms, but a crossed sword and key. These are the symbols of St. Paul and St. Peter and also the symbols of the territory of Schwarzach, to which the village belonged. Seals with this composition have been used until the early 19th century. A seal dating from 1820 shows a shield with in the upper part the arms of [[Baden (State)|Baden]] and in the lower part a plough iron. The plough iron is probably the old village sign. Later in the 19th century the iron is seen alone in a crowned shield.
