The upper half shows the local sand stone rocks known as the Teufelsmauer and already since 1852 a protected natural monument. The swan was used as s aymbol by the local paper factory, an important factory in the history of the village. The waves symbolse the Bode river. The wheat ear symbolises agriculture.
