Doorsneden I  in goud  twee  bergen  met afgesneden  top van azuur,  de  eene schuin  achter  den anderen  geplaatst. II van  sinopel. Over I  en II een golvende  dwarsbalk van  zilver. Het schild  gedekt  met een gouden  kroon  van drie bladeren  en twee paarlen. Schildhouders  : twee  leeuwen  van  goud,  getongd  en  ge­nageld van keel. Wapenspreuk : "Montes prosperitatem vident" in
gouden  latijnsche letters op  een lint van azuur.


The arms show the two volcanoes Wilis and Lawu. The Madiun river is shown as a wavy bar. The green part symbolises the green fields in and near the city. The motto<em> Montes prosperitatem vident</em> (The mountains are witness to my prosperity) and the supporters were not taken in the new arms of the city.
