===Origin/meaning===
The side of the shield consists of two halved evergreen trees as found everywhere in Kippens. At the base, three rhythmical waves symbolise the landforms, fields and open spaces, and the various bodies of water surrounding the town. In the upper portion of the shield, three bands, denoting completeness, echo the waves and symbolise sunshine (yellow), the sky (blue-green), and sunsets (red) respectively.
