Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in a letter by Duke Albrecht V of Bavaria on September 26, 1554.

It confirmed the use of the arms on the seal, and mentioned for the first time the colours. On seals the arms are known since 1512. The deer should indicate that there were a lot of deer in the area. The three hills on which the deer stands should represent the three mountains in Pleinting - the Osterberg, the Frauenberg and the Kammerlberg.

The arms basically have never changed since the 16th century, although some images exist in which a large rock is shown besides the deer. These images all date from the 16th century.
