The Chevron is from the Arms of Alexander, Earl of Sterling First Lord Propietor of Long Island.The Crosses are for Macdonald and was also part of the Sterling Arms. The blue and white colours are from the Stewart Arms indicationg the great benefactors of the diocese Mr. and Mrs. Alexander T. Stewart.
