The arms show the western facade of the local “Marterle” pilgrimage church. The base refers to the local mountains. The upper corner shows a flower of the local orchid species, the elder-flowered orchid (''Dactylorhiza sambucina''), also popularly known as the  “Adam and Eve flower”. The colours were chosen arbitrarily.
