Ultramarine blue and golden orange are the colors assoociated with Army Aviation units. The two broad arrows arrows denote the Southern Philippines and Luzon campaign assault landings, and the stars symbolize the Bismarck Archipeligo and Leyte campaigns of World War II. The triangular shapes, suggested by the Philippine presidential flag, allude to the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation awarded to an element of the battalion for the above campaigns. The wings alude to the regiment's mission. Approved initially for the 49th Aviation Battalion 11 April 1969.
