===Origin/meaning=== | ===Origin/meaning===
The arms were aooficially adopted by the Wiesbaden council in 1951 for the former municipality.
The arms are based on the oldest seal of the village (known from 1637-1736), which show the local patron saint, St. Nicholas, holding a crosier in his right hand a nd three balls in his left. In a later seal, from 1797, the saint has become a normal man holding a crosier. This was also used during the 19th century by the village council.
To simplify the arms it was decided in 1951 using only (part of) the crosier instead of the saint. The colours were chosen arbitrarily.
