The arms of the city (former German name Grünberg in Schlesien) show three towers with in the middle the arms of Silezia. The green colour is canting (Grün, Zielona=green).

The oldest seal showed a castle or city wall with three towers and a samll shield with helmet. The seal dates from the 14<sup>th</sup> century, but the oldest known existing seal dates from 1421. The helmet had a wing as crest, but the image on the shield can not be determined. The wing was the crest of the Kings of Bohemia, to whom the area belonged at the time. So, most likely the small shield showed the lion of Bohemia.
