In Blau auf grünem Boden der heilige Johannes der Täufer in goldenem Fellkleid, mit silbernem Nimbus, in der Linken einen goldenen Kreuzesstab haltend, mit der Rechten auf ein goldnimbiertes, widersehendes silbernes Lamm zeigend.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 24, 1845.

The arms show the image of the local patron saint, St. John Baptist. The composition was already used on the oldest known seal of the council, dating from 1588. The image of the seal was changed to the coat of arms in 1845.
