The arms were designed in 1905 and adopted by the council in 1906.

The pine tree was already used in the seal of the village in the 19<sup>th</sup> century and probably symbolises the forests in the region. The pine tree is also a symbol for the former Hauenstein County to which (part) of the municipality belonged. The Austrian arms were added as the whole region belonged to Austria until 1803.
