===Origin/meaning===
The arms were granted in 1963 and are based on the arms as used on a seal dating from the late 17th century. The chevron in the upper half is derived from the arms of the Lords of Pölnitz, who ruled the village at the time. The hat is a type of farmer's cap used in the area until the 16th century. On the original seal the hat was placed on top of the shield, but is now placed in the upper half as well. The lower half shows a fence with three canting aspen trees (Eschen), indicating the specific territory of Aschbach.
