The arms were granted on February 22, 1971.

The fish and crosier are the symbols of the local patron saint, St. Ulrich, bishop of Augsburg. The fish also symbolizes the former fishing station in the village. The crosier also symbolizes the Garsten Abbey, that founded the local church.
