English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 6, 1953.

The tower is most likely the oldest element of the arms and probably shows the local castle. The original colours were in blue a golden tower. Later the colours were changed. Originally the tower was flanked by two mirrors. The mirrors were added because it was actually believed that Spello derived its name from Latin speculum. As this turned out not to be true, the mirrors were replaced by the roses. Their meaning or origin is not known. The bird is sometimes shown holding a key in its beak. The bird is added only recently and its meaning I don't know.
