Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 6, 1999.
The local castle (shown on the arms) became the centre of a barony (you can see the baron's crown at the top of the arms). At the base, the arms of two families that owned the barony:the fesses of the Queralts, the first barons, and the chequy of the Armengols, that bought the barony in 1515.
