SINT-JORIS-WINGE
Province : Vlaams-Brabant
Incorporated into : 1977 Tielt-Winge
Official blazon
Een zilveren veld met het beeld van St. Georgius naer het leven.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 30, 1839.
The arms show the local patron saint, St. George killing the dragon. The arms were supposedly granted by Emperor Charles V in the early 16th century, but no proof thereof exists. The local seals, however, since the 16th century show the saint.
