HURUM

Province : Viken (until 2020 Buskerud)
Incorporated into : 2020 Asker

Arms (crest) of Hurum

Official blazon

På sølv bunn to blå skråbjelker dannet ved bølgesnitt.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 2, 1979.

The arms show two wavy bends as the municipality is on a peninsula between two fjords, Oslofjord and Drammenfjord. At the same time the arms are based on the arms of the Huitfeldt family, who played a major role in the local history. The family used a single bend as arms.
