Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 10, 1980.
The upper right field shows the three rings of the arms of the Julius-hostital in Würzburg. The hospital owned the village of Platz and granted the town rights in 1802. The fish is taken from the arms of the Lords von der Tann, who ruled the villages for a long time and aloowed freedom of religion in their lands, which has resulted in the fact that the villages are Lutheran in an otherwise catholic region. The cross is taken from the arms of the State of Fulda as until the late 18th century the area was a part of the State of Fulda.
