Origin/meaningThe plane in the cog wheel stands for the aviation and technology in Faßberg, which characterize the place through the military air base. The person in the lower half is a Heidschnuckenschäfer, a shepherd of the very typical moorland sheep bred in the area. There are extensive moor (heather) fields in the municipality. The juniper tree is a typical tree of the area and here has four branches, one for each of the former municiplaities. The wavy pile refers to the Örtze river.
