The dove is taken from the arm of Abbott Honorius Grüninger (1784-1802) of the Irsee Abbey to which the village historically belonged. Abbott Honorius founded the local parish in 1793. The wheel symbolises the former water mill in the Wertach river in the village, first mentioned in 1191.
