Geteilter Schild. Oben in Grün ein springender, goldener Hirsch; untere Hälfte gespalten, vorn in Schwarz ein goldener Schleifstein, hinten in Gold gekreuzt schwarze Schlägel und Eisen. Origin/meaningThe arms were granted in 1950. The arms show in the upper half a deer for the formerly large forests in the area. The lower half shows in the right corner a stone wheel, symbol for the stone industry in the area. The lower left corner shows two miner's tools for the coal mining in the area, which started in the 17th century.
