Blason de Mortzwiller / Arms of Mortzwiller
Official blazon
French

D'or à la roue de moulin de gueules surmontée d'une navette posée en fasce du même; à la champagne d'azur.

English No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 1980.

The blue base symbolises the Soultzbach stream as well as the ponds in the area, the wheel is a symbol for the many water mills that used to operate in the village, and which played a major role in the development of the local textile industry. The latter is symbolised by the spindle.
