NO 236 OPERATIONAL CONVERSION UNIT, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: Formed in July 1947 at Kinloss from the disbanded No 4 Operational Training Unit.
Official blazon
Badge: In front of a fountain a hunting horn in bend Or.
Motto: To hunt and to kill.
Origin/meaning
The Role of the Unit is to train Crews to Hunt (symbolised by the Hunting Hurn) Submarines from above the Sea (indicated by the the Fountain). The badge was granted in August 1950.
