Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 21, 1993.
The arms show the quartered arms of Querfurt and Mansfeld in the first quarter; the arms of the Counts of Mansfeld of the Querfurt family.
The second quarter represents the iron industry, which has been of importance in the area for centuries.
