Origin/meaning

The arms were never used by the municipality, but designed in 2005.

The horse refers to the importance of local horse breeding as well to the State of Niedersachsen. The wavy bar and the blue base refer to the Landwehrsee (lake), a recreational area near the village. The base shows the typical gable of the local farms and refers to the agricultural character of the village.
