HACHUM
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Wolfenbüttel
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Dettum
Incorporated into: 1974 Evessen
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted in 1997.
The arms were designed after a local contest. The silver church is the local church, built in 1333. The two fences are canting, the old name of the village meant 'fenced village'. The base shows symbols for agriculture (plough) and carpentry. The green wheat-ear also symbolises agriculture. The two small linden leaves refer to the arms of Evessen, to which the village belongs and symbolise the two members from Hachum in the Evessen council.
