RIEDER
State : Sachsen-Anhalt
District (Kreis) : Harz (until 2007 Quedlinburg)
Incorporated into : 2011 Quedlinburg
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 3, 1997.
The lower half shows a castle wall, which symbolises the local Roseburg castle, dating from the 11th century. In 936 Queen Mathilde granted the village a bronze churchbell, which is the oldest existing bell in Germany. This is symbolised by the bell in the arms.
