HOHENAU AN DER RAAB
State : Steiermark
District : Weiz
Official blazon
In Schwarz ein goldgesäumter mit drei goldenen Ahornblättern belegter blauer Schrägrechtsbalken.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 20, 1988.
The tinctures sable and or are taken from a medieval coat of arms born a family of knights, the Fladnitzer. The bend azure symbolises the river Raab, which originates in the municipality. The name of the municipality meant Ahornau (groove of maples), originally, so maple leaves were put into the shield.
