Origin/meaning
The arms of the city show the eagle of Upper Silezia combined with a key and star. The meaning of the key is not known, it may be the symbol of St. Peter. The oldest seal shows the composition as above, whereas newer seals show the complete key, as shown by the image of Hupp below (also with the eagle in more historically correct colours).
