The H.Lambertus is the local patron saint, and on the 16-17<sup>th</sup> century seals he is shown holding the arms of the local Lords. In the above arms the shield is the arms of the Hinnisdaal family, Lords of Sint Lambrechts Woluwe in the 17<sup>th</sup> century. The village then formed the capital of the County Hinnisdaal, that existed for around 40 years.
