The previous arms are canting, showing some acorns (Eicheln). The acorns already appear on a stone in the local church, which dates from 1680. As no colours were known, the red and silver of the [[Mainz (State)|State of Mainz]] were chosen. Eichenbühl belonged to Mainz until 1803.
