The emblem is taken from the flag of the Naval Aviation Service (MLD), which was granted by Royal Decree 2 of December 2, 1943. The flag was replaced by a banner by Royal Decree 131 of 18 August 1962, as a result of which the image in the flag would no longer be used. The MLD then took the initiative to place this image in a service emblem. It refers to the activities of this service over land and sea. | |||
