The new arms were designed after a contest in the municipality. The new arms are divided twice into four parts (quartered diagonally red and silver, and a quartered bar), symbolising the union of the four former municipalities. The colours are taken from the arms of the former municipalities. The bend also indicates the Aare and Gürbe rivers in the municipality. | |||
