The upper part shows a double-headed eagle, symbol for the St. Maximinus Abbey. According to a (falsified) document was the chapel in Noyn granted to the St. Maximinus Abbey in 970. even though it is a fake legend, it was still mentioned as the oldest source of the name in 1759.
 
The lower half shows a sword as a symbol for St. Martin of Tours, the local patron saint of the forementioned chapel and current parish.
