Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 4, 1980.

The colours of the arms are those of the Palatinate (Kurpfalz). The golden oak on the right represents the large and valuable oak forests of the region, the golden lion refers to the Kurpfalz. The black church in the lower part of the arms is the tower of the local church from the 13th or 14th century, referring to the religious confession of the region.
