Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 22, 1993.
The lion is the symbol of strength, the lightning symbolises electricity. Together with the 'supporters' the lightning indicates the importance of the Ilha Solteira dam and power station. The book and the stars symbolise the local university.
The motto shows the name of the municipality, flanked by the dates of its foundation and the year when city status was received.
