- (nl) Gedeeld: 1 van blauw bezaaid met zilveren leliën; 2 van rood met een zilveren dwarsbalk.
- (fr) Parti au 1 d'azur semé de fleurs de lys d'argent, au 2 de gueules à une fasce d'argent.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 5, 1913.
The arms are based on the arms of the St. Gertudis Abbey in Nijvel, which had many possessions in the area and which also owned the local church. The arms are a combination of the arms of France (fleur-de-lis) and Austria (silver bar). Why these symbols were chosen for the Abbey is not clear.
