Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 7, 1975.
The rooster indicates the high spirited people of the city and also the numerous poultry farms of the region. The cross is the symbol of Christianity.
The supporters are the Indian chief Iacri, whose name became the name of the village, and his wife Jurema; they lived with their people nearby during the time of colonisation.
The motto means 'Prodigious land'.
