German | In Gold über blauem Wellenschildfuß ein rotes Siel mit geöffneten silbernen Sieltüren, darüber in schwebendem blauem Schild drei (2:1) goldene Lilien. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 13, 1966.
The open lock above the waves symbolizes, on the one hand, the Oldersum slulock and, on the other hand, the importance of the lock and pumping station for the surrounding area.
The small shield shows the arms of the former Lords of Oldersum.
