Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on ??-??- 1956.

The arms shows in the right half the bear of Sankt Gallen. The village was a possession of this Swiss Sankt Gallen Abbey from the 8th century until 1297. The left half shows the cross of the city of Freiburg im Breisgau, which owned the village from 1492-1805.
