Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 15, 1965.
The urn refers to the fact that already in prehistoric times the area was settled. The division of the shield refers to the story that in historical time sthere were eleven huts near the lake forming the village. This was Eilf am See (eleven on the lake), which became Eilvese.
